Attend Consumer Camp

June 10-11, 2010 Warren Hall , Cornell University—Ithaca, NY

The Food and Brand Lab sets aside the second Thursday and Friday in June to hold Consumer Camp up on the Cornell Campus in Ithaca, NY. It gives us a chance to directly share some of what we have learned with consumers, dieters, writers, parents, educators, new friends, and old friends. Over 3300 people from 37 different states and five countries have attended Consumer Camp since it began in 1999.

Consumer Camp Registration (pdf 64k)

The first day of Consumer Camp is a workshop on a particular theme. The second day is a series of general sessions and demonstrations. The workshop this year is called "The Smarter Lunchrooms Initiative."  It is focused on how a school lunchroom can make low-cost or no-cost changes to nudge children to eat a little healthier without taking away a wide array of choices (see www.SmarterLunchrooms.org). It is focused toward educators, school lunch directors, dietitians, and parents who want to learn how to help their schools  make easy, inexpensive, permanent changes that make a big difference.

The second day, Friday will be more general and aimed at all consumers. Please check the program below. Although we don't have a registration fee, this year we have a suggested donation of $20 to cover the cost of breakfast and lunch. This year, the Thursday workshop in Consumer Camp is limited to the first 50 people who register, and the general sessions are limited to 200.

If you would like to join us for this year's Consumer Camp please fill out the Registration form below and fax it back to 607-255-9984 no later than May 31st.
